Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, also known as PTSD, occurs in people who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event, or after a very stressful, frightening experience.
PTSD can cause a wide range of symptoms resulting in making other health problems worse.
Treatment can help feel like you regained control of your life.
People with PTSD have intense, disturbing thoughts and feelings related to a traumatic experience. Oftentimes people with PTSD are reliving the event through flashbacks, nightmares, or intense anxiety. They may feel sadness, fear, anger or detached and estranged from other people. Getting effective treatment for PTSD can be critical to reduce symptoms and improve functions.
PTSD symptoms may start within one month of witnessing or experiencing a traumatic event or can start to show up years after the event. Symptoms may look like intrusive memories or flashbacks, avoidance in thinking, talking, or being reminded of the experience, negative changes in mood or thinking, and changes in physical or emotional reactions. This may cause significant problems in your ability to complete normal daily tasks, participate in social situations, perform at work, or even just sleeping. The severity of symptoms may change due to outside factors. For example, you may experience more symptoms when you're generally stressed out, or if you come across a reminder of the experience, you went through. Post-traumatic stress disorder can make it hard to enjoy life― so it is important to get the treatment you need.
At Acupuncture Wellness Services, we use a combination of modalities and techniques to regulate the flow of energy in the body to achieve outstanding results. The extensive training and experience of our practitioners enables them to successfully blend time-tested and ancient treatment protocols with modern and sophisticated therapies. One of the greatest benefits of our procedure is the ability to detect and correct energetic sensitivities to foods and the environment that might be creating symptoms in your body. Each patient is treated individually, and so the combination of techniques is determined at the time of evaluation. Our treatments integrate well with western medicine, chiropractic, massage therapy, occupational therapy, dental work and nutritional healing.
